Fellowships, grants, and other funding opportunities

UIC, along with many other state universities, has candidates who pursue and receive these wonderful awards on a regular basis, and UIC students are competitive applicants for them each and every year. Please see the Recent Recipients page for some recent fellowship recipients from UIC.

Many opportunities on this page require the student to be nominated through UIC, and UREF exists to help you through the entire process.

  • Please note that UIC's campus deadlines are earlier — often months earlier — than the foundations' deadlines, so interested applicants should prepare well in advance.

  • Advising is very important when deciding which opportunities are a good fit for you and your interests, so please be sure to contact UREF staff to start the conversation and process early.

Click any individual opportunity below to see information about its requirements, deadlines, and benefits, including a link to the foundation website. Fellowships are listed A-Z.
